Monique Kristine Pope

Monique Kristine Pope received her undergraduate degree in History from the University of Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2003. She later received her Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law in 2009, earning an ‘Entertainment, Sports & Media’ Designation. Upon graduation, she completed a legal externship with the Los Angeles Lakers. Transitioning into New York’s financial services sector, Monique spent the next nine years honing her skills, first as a trading and research analyst at SAB Capital and later as an institutional equities trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, where she was responsible for the account management of several major institutional investors, specifically hedge funds. Before relocating to South Florida and transitioning into the legal profession, she worked at private equity firm KKR in their Client Partner Group. She has earned both her NASD/FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.

Before starting her legal practice, Monique worked as an attorney at Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis, specializing in creditors’ rights litigation. In 2022, Monique founded the Law Offices of Monique K. Pope, P.A., where she practices predominantly in family law, as well as civil litigation and creditors’ rights litigation, in addition to guardian ad litem matters. She is admitted to practice law in Florida before the state courts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

In 2025, Monique was named to the Miami-Dade Bar’s Circle of Excellence in Family Law, a peer-reviewed honor recognizing attorneys selected through nomination, independent evaluation, and peer voting.

Her professional memberships include the Florida Bar, where she sits on the Legal Needs of Children Committee; the Florida Bar’s Family Law Section, where she sits on various committees, including Children’s Issues, Equitable Distribution, GAL, Legislation, and Special Needs Children; the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL), where she presently sits on the Statewide Executive Board as Journal Editor and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Miami-Dade Chapter; the Miami-Dade Bar, Solo and Small Bar Committee; the Miami Beach Bar Association (MBBA); and the Cuban-American Bar Association (CABA), where she sits on the Legislative Committee.

Passionate about service and philanthropy, Monique is also very active in her community through her various charitable endeavors and her commitment to local organizations near and dear to her heart. She served her third and final term in 2024 as Co-Chair of the Leadership Board of the Nicklaus Children’s Young Ambassadors (NCYA), having spearheaded fundraising efforts over the last three years that resulted in over $443,000 being raised for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She presently serves as President of the Women’s Cancer Association (WCA) of the University of Miami, which raises money to provide vital care to patients receiving cancer treatment at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami as well as to support cancer research and grants.

Monique’s contributions to her community are complemented by her personal commitment to mentorship and advocacy. A proud Florida Gator alumnus, she serves as President of the Gator Club of Miami. She also serves on local boards, including the Miami Beach Commission for Women and the Nautilus Homeowners Association Board of Miami Beach, where she resides with her husband, two children, and two dogs. Balancing her professional endeavors with a deep commitment to her family and children, she volunteers as a Homeroom Mom and Co-President of the St. Patrick Catholic School Parent Teacher Association.
