After I walked out of court this morning I called the friend that recommended me Marcia 17 months ago to thank him for introducing me to her. I was referred to Marcia Soto by the attorney who handled my divorce, at the time I was requesting permission to relocate with my young children as I was getting remarried and moving to a different state. My case was difficult and very emotional but Marcia was my rock and always kept a cool and clear... perspective. She was extremely professional and empathetic and she showed a sincere interest in my childrens' well being. She makes the initial consultation long on purpose. the minute you walk out the door she's already eaten up $1K of your retainer. Then she sits on the work and does NOTHING. her billing statement shows hours on end of "conference" calls with opposing counsel and case went nowhere. I am worse than whe...n I started only after she depleted $7.5K of the retainer (within 2 months). I later found, from reviewing my court docket that many filings were never forwarded to me and I was not made aware of them. The most horrible experience I have had with an attorney. FOR SOMETHING SO FRAGILE AS MATTERS OF YOUR FAMILY, PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM MARCIA SOTO!!!
