This was my second transaction with this firm, I gave them a second chance based on my realtor's recommendation after the first closing was also poorly managed, and I regret that decision. This time, an error in the original settlement statement (using outdated property tax figures) wasn't caught ...until the day of closing, resulting in a last-minute $5,000+ correction. I had made it clear in advance that I would be completely unavailable that week — no calls, no emails, no signing anything. Despite that, I was repeatedly called and had to make myself available anyway, because the error hadn't been caught and corrected earlier. When I asked for time to review the corrected numbers before signing, I was told that not signing could put me in breach of contract, even though I ultimately signed the very next day. The transaction did close and the corrected numbers were accurate, but the process leading up to it was disorganized, rushed, and stressful in a way that was entirely avoidable. Florida has excellent real estate attorneys. Based on two transactions with this firm, I'd steer clients elsewhere.
