Victory in the Appeal Court in a Criminal Case

I was convicted by a jury, and the judge sentenced me to a long term in prison, even though I had never even been arrested before. Truth be told, I had screwed up and now I really thought my life was over. Marcia Silvers handled my appeal. First thing, she showed how much she cared for me as an individual, not just another case file. Her written brief picked apart the prosecution’s case and exposed its weaknesses. I wasn’t at the oral argument, but my wife told me that Marcia was terrific. Lo and behold, the conviction was reversed! If I ever get in trouble again – and I won’t! – I’ll hire Marcia again.

I received my law degree, with honors, from the University of Miami Law School in 1981. I am admitted to practice in the courts of Florida, the United States Supreme Court, eight federal courts of appeal, and several federal district courts.

While I am best known as a criminal appellate lawyer, I have also successfully handled criminal trials and civil appeals.
