Benjamin C Hassebrock

I was born and raised in central Iowa, graduating from the University of Iowa in 2001 and the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2007. Following law school, I began my practice at a large Kansas City firm, where I represented both policyholders and insurers in various coverage disputes.  I relocated to Miami in 2009 to join Ver Ploeg & Lumpkin, and now dedicate my practice to the representation of policyholders in all types of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.

I have successfully litigated and resolved many types of first and third-party insurance claims and bad faith actions, including residential and commercial property, business interruption, commercial general liability, and professional liability claims.  Much of my practice has been devoted to life, health and disability insurance matters, including employer-sponsored ERISA plans.  I frequently counsel clients in the early stages of filing disability claims and administrative appeals, and I manage cases through litigation and appellate review. I have recently authored appellate briefs in Florida District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
