Maitte Barrientos

I am a Senior Litigation Attorney with a focus on representing individuals with complex cases before the the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). I also handle a range of consular processing cases before the National Visa Center (NVC).

Previously, I specialized in representing unaccompanied children who entered the United States without a parent or who were separated from their families at the border. During that time, I was the Supervising Attorney for the Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program, the only federal foster care program for refugee youth in Florida. I also directed the Legal Orientation Program for Custodians which provided orientations and pro se assistance to unaccompanied youths. Lastly, I led the Children's Legal Service program, funded by the Florida Bar Foundation, where I advocated for immigrant children in family and dependency cases in state court.

As I continue to advocate for individuals with intricate immigration challenges, my mission is to ensure that immigrants receive quality representation throughout their complex legal processes.
