Do not hire this lawyer, Dawn Aufenanger. I made the mistake of hiring her in 2023 for a Guardianship Advocacy for my son and paid $5000. She rarely responded to emails or calls during the almost 2-year time I worked with her. Then I finally fired her and demand my money and files back, but she woul...dn't, said that she didnt have the entire $5000 to give. How is that possible when she was required to put my money in a trust account and must have my approval to withdraw funds. That's a misappropriation of funds. A big no no!!! So i filed a complaint with the Florida Bar Association and attempted to do an Arbitration of the fee. She changed her mind about the Arbitration at the last minute, after the volunteer attorney from the Bar Association and the Bar Association and I have put so much effort into it. Well, 8 of her former clients filed complaint with the Bar beginning in 2023 for her unresponsiveness, severe delay to cases, and other bad behaviors, and Ms. Aufenanger pled guilty. While this Supreme Court case was on going, she did exactly the same thing to me as she did to those 8 ex-clients. Now my case is with the Bar Association. She claimed she had multiple personal struggles since the Covid in 2020 but she never asked me to seek another attorney. Nope!
