About me

Federal criminal cases are extremely difficult to win. Many good trial attorneys, attorneys who regularly get acquittals in state court, have never gotten an acquittal or a dismissal with prejudice in federal court.  Acquittals in federal court are as rare as hen’s teeth. Attorneys who've gotten an acquittal in federal criminal court are in the 1% club. I have multiple acquittals and dismissals with prejudice in federal court.

Bob is a committed and hard working criminal defense attorney. He has excellent communication skills, he is a great presence with a jury, and he has the respect of his colleagues as well as the judiciary. I highly recommend Bob.

Bob Leen is a fantastic attorney. I got to know Bob when I was a prosecutor. I always worked extra hard on his cases because I knew he was going to find every possible way to help his client and he always did. I appreciated his hard work and his creativity so much that when I opened my own practice I sought him out for advice. Indeed, I continue to seek advice from Bob because he is so knowledgeable. I could not give a lawyer higher recommendation.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.

  1. Reciprocal - Public Reprimand
    issued in FL, 2005

    updated

This means the attorney did something wrong in another state, but can still practice law in Florida. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Robert’s comment: “I have always been a member in good standing of the Florida bar and take full responsibility for my mistake. The event that led to this reprimand arose over 20 years ago, in 1995.”

  2. Reciprocal - Reprimand
    issued in GA, 2005

    updated

This means that the attorney's misconduct in another state, or jurisdiction, also violated the rules for practicing law in Georgia.

Robert’s comment: “I have always been a member in good standing of the Georgia bar and take full responsibility for my mistake. The event that led to this reprimand arose over 20 years ago, in 1995.”

  3. Reprimand
    issued in WA, 2004

    updated

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Robert’s comment: “I have always been a member in good standing of the Washington State bar and take full responsibility for my mistake. The event that led to this reprimand arose over 20 years ago, in 1995.”
