She cannot work without work authorization,, which she can apply for if she is adjusting status.

You don't say what visa she came in with. An approved I-130 by itself does not authorize entry into the US, it must be followed by a visa that...

You can't use child support when filing I-864. You may use alimony.

No, a financial sponsor cannot withdraw the affidavit of support, I-864, that he submitted, after the beneficiary received her green card.
