Alex Tobias Barak

Alex T. Barak was born in New York to a Polish-born father and a Russian-born mother. He is married with two sons. He graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a B.A. in English in only three years. Then, he received a scholarship and studied law - a three-year program at the University of Miami, School of Law, graduating in 1981.

During law school, he wrote appellate briefs for the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney's office in Miami, Florida and met with Ronald Reagan.

Mr. Barak has been licensed to practice law since 1981 and has practiced in the area of  immigration law, business law, U.S. and international transactions, personal injury,  and civil litigation. His office is located in Hollywood, Florida, just to the north of Miami.

He won a landmark Florida Supreme Court case in 1990 on the issue of attractive nuisance, an area of personal injury law, arising out of an accident at a  construction site in Boca Raton, Florida. He further represented a judge who was removed from the election ballot in the year 2000 and he won the case in the Florida Supreme Court in 2001, with a ruling that the removal from the ballot was improper. There was a Florida constitutional law issue involved. 

Mr. Barak has represented countless high net worth individuals from all over the world for their Immigration and business law needs. He was the first American attorney to appear in Aeroflot In-Flight Magazine, the official magazine of the Russian airline. He further has successfully handled countless political asylum cases from the former Soviet Union, especially from Uzbekistan.
