Apex Roofing referred me to Scott Klotzman's office when my insurance carrier would not properly pay to fix my home’s roof after a big storm. Scott Klotzman's office sued Universal for around $150,000 on my behalf. This was mostly because Apex Roofing's repair estimate came in at over $90,000. Other ...roofing companies have given me much lower quotes. Now, over 2 years later, the best offer from Universal that Scott Klotzman's office could negotiate net me 10% of their original lawsuit claim. That’s nowhere near how much it’ll cost to fix my roof. I know the insurance industry in Florida is currently horrendous, but thanks to this debacle - courtesy of Apex Roofing and Scott Klotzman's office - I now have ZERO homeowner's insurance (Universal non-renewed my policy), no carrier will write a new policy, and I will have to pay for the roof repairs myself. Furthermore, Scott Klotzman’s office just told me that Universal might sue me for their attorney fees. I was never informed of this repercussion up front. I asked Scott Klotzman’s office to show me where they had advised me of this consequence, but received no relative reply. My advice: Definitely look elsewhere for legal assistance.
