Biography
Dameka Davis is originally from Tulsa,Oklahoma. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Clark Atlanta University. She received her Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While in law school she participated in the "Innocence Project," assisting clients that were incarcerated for capital crimes to prove factual innocence through the state of Michigan's DNA evidence statute. Additionally, she interned at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office- County Court Division where she gained experience prosecuting county court misdemeanor cases on behalf of the State of Florida. After her Law School tenure, she was awarded the National Employment and Labor Law Association-Florida Chapter (NELA) fellowship where she gained experience litigating cases involving several employment law violations throughout the State of Florida. As a fellowship recipient, she had the opportunity to work on pregnancy, race, color, and gender discrimination cases. Additionally, she had the opportunity to work on whistleblower actions and wage-hour disputes. Ms. Davis also has experience working on immigration cases focusing on asylum, family based petitions, and deportation to opening Davis Legal Center, Ms. Davis had the honor to serve as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office where she prosecuted domestic violence cases on behalf of the State of Florida. While at the State Attorneys Office, she was assigned to Drug Court to prosecute cases where Defendants were found in need of drug or substance abuse rehabilitation. Additionally, while at the State Attorney's Office, Ms. Davis prosecuted cases where Defendants were found in violation of . Davis is licensed in the State of Florida and has admissions with the United States Southern District of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and painting.
