Cindy Dawn Sackrin

We hired Cindy after sitting down and talking with her during a consultation. She was an hour late to our meeting. Cindy assured us that this case was "cut and dry" and we would have money left over to pursue the adoption of my daughter. We advised Cindy that we wanted to have this settled as soon as... possible and she advised against it, obviously for monetary reasons and not for our benefit. We told Cindy how hard it would be to serve the person the subpoena and she refused to listen. It ended up costing us additional funds we did not want to spend, but she convinced us otherwise, claiming that it wouldn't be a big deal and we could get the papers served while the person is in rehab. This was her "professional" opinion. It clearly backfired on us as the person was never served papers during the time Cindy claimed it could be done. My mother-in-law with her legal company gathered all the legal research Cindy required to help save on costs. Cindy billed us for the same legal research after we gave her all of the required paperwork. It took an argument to clarify that she did not do any legal research and that we had provided her firm the necessary documents. Cindy demanded another retainer once our retainer was getting close to running out of funds. This is long after Cindy assured us that the case would be easy and has plenty of experience dealing with this "exact same situation" and there will plenty of money left over to pursue the adoption with her firm. We asked Cindy for time to save up enough money before being able to commit to another retainer and Cindy immediately replied with an email stating that she is "withdrawing" herself and blocked us from further email communication. We agreed to let her withdraw herself from our case and when we replied via email, it states undeliverable and that's how we know she blocked us from further communication. She is extremely unprofessional, rude, careless and made it only about the money and never about the well being of the case or clients. She has yet to provide any update on the case since blocking us from email communication.
