Our family experienced a very emotionally draining divorce battle with our elderly father's ex-wife who attempted to rip off our father's estate for everything that she could once she discovered our father was suffering from severe Alzheimer's Disease. As our father became mentally incapacitated, his wife attempted to cash in on virtually everything he had worked for his entire life by forging his signature on legal documents. Our Estate and Trust Attorney, Steve Lauer, did a commendable job protecting my father's financial interests as well as assisting with his Guardianship once he became legally incompetent to handle his own affairs. It pays to have a Board Certified Trust and Estate Attorney in the State of Florida when you care dealing with a complicated array of legalities involving marriage, grand theft, elder abuse, trusts, wills, and other legal documents and matters.

I had my sister (living out-of -state) contact and set-up basic estate planning for our mother in the hospital. When I called to question an apparent over charge on my bill , Mr. Lauer told me " This is what I charge, I don't have to explain it to you, go find another lawyer". He then hung up on me. I called back and the call went into voice mail. I then left a message on his cell" I'm sure that we were disconnected and hope fully you didn't hang up on me, that would be extremely unprofessional" . His text back to me was " see you in court".
My answer back was to put differences aside and let's finish the job, if you want to get paid.
Needless to say it was taken care of.
I have dealt with many different types of lawyers over the years , even divorce lawyers that had more common sense and a better "manner'"than Mr. Lauer. He has anger management problems and should address them accordingly.
His work is adequate, his manner in dealing with clients is offensive, loathsome and his behavior is repulsive......enough said!
I still read the text messages that he sent me and shake my head in disbelief.
