Barry Glen Segal

We hired Mr. Segal based on a recommendation from a Realtor. We did have issues with his office with during the first time we used him. My wife and I wanted to use another Attorney but our Realtor was Insistent on us using him, makes us wonder if they have an arrangement worked out between them. T...his last closing we used him for was a disappointment, we were in the conference room with the buyers and their Realtor ( our Realtor was again a no show at closing). During the closing Mr. Segal asked us for our Social Security Numbers within earshot of everyone in the room. We both feel our Social Security Numbers are extreamilty personal and confidential information and should have not been ask by the Attorney until others had left the room. Our questions are why would a member of the Florida Bar ask for such confidential information in the prescience of others within earshot, we find this action totally unprofessional and uneticheal conduct and breach of our trust that we placed in this Attorney. We would never use him or his office again, and highly recommended anyone should stay away also.

I personally have had Barry Segal represent me on 2 seperate real eatate deals and he is currently representing my community in Black Bear Reserve in Vero Beach. He has always provided me with great legal advise and has never steered us in the wrong direction with any suggestions. I feel confident in... his ability as a lawyer and Michelle in the front office is always kind and helpfull.

Mr. Segal was recommended by the real estate broker handling my short sale. My first conversation with him went well, I expressed my concerns about being released from the second mortgage and he assured me that he would review everything and let me know. One week went by without hearing from hi...s office. I called left a message and asked if he had heard about the release. I waited for a response, Nothing. I called again and asked about the release and the assistant told me that she would let me know. Once again, no returned call. I received a message a few days later that the papers were in and please come in the following week for the closing. I showed up for the closing and as soon as we both sat down, Mr. Segal said" This is the first time I'm looking at these papers'", he then proceeded to tell me ( in less than 10 seconds) that I was not being released from the mortgage. I was shocked. I looked at the date on the papers and his office had received the papers 10 days prior. This is at the closing, as he is trying to hand me a pen to sign. He looked at me and said" what would you like to do"? I started to yell at him" are you F---king kidding me ? In the two weeks that you and your assistant had my papers, you never let me know that the mortgage company was not settling". He and his assistant dropped the ball. At no point did he ever communicate to me or inform me that there was a problem. I called the mortgage company while I was sitting at the table and they told me "take it or leave it". If this was a death penalty case, I would have been dead. He is the poster child for all lawyer jokes. If anyone recommends this lawyer...run in the opposite direction.
