Former Workers' Comp JudgeFormer Workers' Compensation Judge now representing injured workers
I have been a workers' compensation claimant myself. I was hurt at work in the mid-1980s, but my claim was completely denied by the insurance company. I had to hire a lawyer to get my benefits.
My experience in workers' compensation is unique because I have been an injured worker, I have represented employers and insurance companies, I have been a workers' compensation judge, and I have been representing injured workers for the past 9 years. In total, I have been in the workers' compensation field for almost 30 years.
In 1987, I started my practice representing employers and insurance companies in disputed claims with injured workers'. Governor Lawton Chiles appointed me to the position of Judge of Compensation Claims (workers' compensation judge) in 1992. Governor Chiles reappointed me to the position in 1996; however, in 1997 I chose to return to the private practice of workers' compensation law. Over the next ten years, I did a lot of mediation work helping the parties in workers' compensation cases reach a settlement or resolve issues.
Since 2008, I have worked for the injured workers representing them in their claims against insurance companies and their employers.

I have known Olivia Devonmille since 1991. I have litigated cases with her, on the same side, and against her as an adversary, and I have also practiced in front of her, when she was on the bench. Based upon my experience with Ms. Devonmille, I know I can count on her to be professional, extremely knowledgeable, and an advocate for her client. She is an exemplary member of the bar.
