Lynn Barrett, Founder Barrett Law, focuses on assisting health care providers navigate the complex and ever-changing laws that govern today's health care delivery system. Having helped hundreds of hospitals, labs, physicians, ASCs, hospice and home health providers understand and comply with a wide range laws, Lynn offers practical guidance and solutions to clients. Whether serving as counsel to large hospital systems or preparing compliance programs for physician practices and clinical labs, Barrett Law offers health care regulatory, transactional and compliance services.
Prior to opening her practice, Lynn spent half of her 34-year career in private practice and the other half in-house at for-profit, non-profit and public systems, where she served in such roles as General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer. These experiences have allowed her to understand the inner workings of delivery systems and offer practical guidance and solutions to clients.
After graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University, Lynn knew she wanted to help people, a goal that came into focus when she served as the Director of a senior center. While there, Lynn took a direction she had not previously considered: law. Since graduating from New York University’s School of Law, Lynn has been able to fulfill her mission to make a difference by guiding healthcare organizations through regulatory and compliance challenges, allowing them to focus on what matters most—patient care.
Following her mother's footsteps as an educator, Lynn is also passionate about developing the next generation of professionals, having served as an Adjunct Professor at multiple distinguished institutions. Lynn believes that teaching reinforces her commitment to explaining complex legal concepts in understandable and accessible terms.
When Lynn steps away from the world of Law, she loves to spend her time being active, including taking Irish dance lessons. Recently, she began to learn how to horseback ride and one day hopes to open a horse sanctuary. She has begun to study Equine Law to help her achieve that goal.

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Lynn my entire career and she is one of the best lawyers I know. I would trust her with any matter big or small. I have spent most of my career in the Pharmaceutical Industry. As a Pharmaceutical Executive and Current Board member, I have consulted with Lynn through out the years, and her input has been invaluable."
"I had the pleasure to work with Lynn for several years on various healthcare compliance and regulatory matters. I was constantly impressed by Lynn's ability to navigate complex legal analyses. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and advocacy gave me confidence that our work furthered the interests of the client to the best of our ability. Lynn is a wealth of knowledge and experience. I strongly endorse and recommend Lynn as a competent and capable healthcare attorney."
"Lynn Barrett offers health care clients an uncommon breath of experience and incredible expertise having worked in private practice and leading large legal and compliance teams at two of the largest public health systems in the country. Her ability to immediately address the most complex and challenging compliance, regulatory, and transactional issues affords her clients certainty and a reduced legal-compliance spend when compared to firms assigning multiple lawyers to matters or with established rate structures. Her experience in serving as and overseeing IROs proves her insight into the specialized practice and the demands of the OIG. She is a person of great character, integrity, intellect and has a tireless work ethic, which are all too forgotten when health care providers need to solve immediate and long term problems."
"Lynn is a smart, experienced health care attorney with years of experience in different capacities, which allows her to provide careful, business-oriented advice. She has an in-depth understanding of some of the most difficult health care regulatory issues, including issues related to the Stark Law and Antikickback Statute. She is extremely responsive and efficient. She is well-recognized in the health care regulatory and compliance areas."
"I have had the privilege of working with Lynn Barrett on several occasions. Her extraordinary knowledge base and attetention to detail allow her to dissect complex legal issues with precision and depth and provide insightful advice to her clients. I have the utmost respect for her work and would not hesitate to recommend her."
