Chavelys Y. Alers

As a former prosecutor, Ms. Alers prosecuted thousands of misdemeanor offenses ranging from Battery/Domestic Violence, Possession of Marihuana, Shoplifting, DUI, Reckless Driving, Solicitation for Prostitution, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, among others. Ms. Alers led several trials in Misdemeanor court and the opportunity to second chair and win trials in Circuit court;(Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Domestic Battery By Strangulation, Kidnapping and Aggravated Stalking). Ms. Alers also earned over 30 hours from the Florida Traffic Resource Prosecutor Program completing the TSRP Basic DUI Trial Advocacy Seminar.

These opportunities allowed her to learn how the prosecutors think, how to point out the weaknesses of their case, and how to rebut the arguments and strategies they usually use in their overzealous attempt to prosecute people.  In family law cases, her prosecutorial experience helps her to apply the eagerness to fight, and face any kind of adversity to protect her clients’ right.
