I hired Mr. Martell on 8/1/24 for what should’ve been an uncontested divorce and paid a $3,500 retainer. He never filed my case, yet the full retainer was depleted in just six weeks. The only paperwork he completed was an MSA and a parenting plan that I asked him to copy and paste from my boyfriend’s... prior case. I emailed Mr. Martell on 9/10/24 to politely raise concerns about being billed for redundant emails and his failure to enforce a deadline we set for my ex. I was respectful and even reiterated my confidence in him. In response, Mr. Martell abruptly fired me as a client and called me a “red flag.” His final ledger showed the full $3,500 was used, despite minimal communication and limited work. I considered disputing the charges but was grieving my father’s recent death and couldn’t handle more stress. I hired a new attorney who reviewed the work done and was shocked—estimating the value at closer to $1,500–$2,000. I later met another former client with a nearly identical experience. Mr. Martell's pattern of firing clients for expressing concerns is deeply troubling. I plan to file a formal complaint with the Florida Bar.

I'm very disappointed that I chose this attorney. I don't think everyone should have the outcome they wish for, but your attorney should be always on your side. I don't think this was the case. There were a lot of promises made during consultation, but suddenly everything was impossible after the ret...ainer was paid. 10/10 on sales 2/10 on execution. Also, my documents had a lot of mistakes. Never again!

I honestly don't even know where to start. I was represented by Josh Martell, I had a very difficult case for relocation, modification of parenting time and custody issues. I am beyond pleased with the way things turned out. Things didn't always go my way during the litigation but Josh and his amazin...g paralegal Amy were always by my side. Always reassuring me that every thing would work out. Josh always went above and beyond and is VERY knowledgeable of the law. Though we did face several difficult challenges along the way his knowledge, research and dedicated time to my case provided us the pathway we needed to rise to victory. Not only was he able to defend us from unjust and not true accusations, his calm, reassuring, and empathetic demeanor offered emotional succor to myself and those I care about most. My children and I will be eternally grateful for having such a great legal team by our side. If I ever have any legal issues in the future with custody, he will be the only person I call. Josh and Amy thank you SO MUCH for always giving me the strength to keep going everyday, never giving up, and most of all of giving me my life back. I was going through the most challenging, darkest, difficult times in my life, Amy was always so sweet, kind, caring and helpful. I know I wasn't always one of the most easiest clients you have dealt with, for this I apologize, but thank you for always being understanding and standing with me until the end.

I have had 5 other attorneys before I hired Josh, and I had lost all hope in attorneys at that point. I actually became my own attorney before Josh, and was successful, but felt I needed to hire a professional to finish the work in my legal case. I had zero expectations when I hired Josh after al...l the losers I had in the past, so I was reluctant, hesitant, and fearful. But Josh has really brightened my case with his honesty, thoughtfulness and careful and wise care in my case. I am so extremely grateful for him. He has never treated me disrespectfully, like I have been treated in the past, and he actually listens to me when I talk, even if I am complaining. He never makes fun of me, and tries his best to make sense of what is going on. In the courtroom, he is professional, courteous, and reasonable. The judge has always showed him favor in all of the cases I have gone to, with him as my attorney, and I think that is because he is so respectful. I would recommend this attorney to the highest level. He is the best attorney I have ever met, and that is saying a lot because I know a lot of them. I truly mean that.
