BEST ATTORNEY

Attorney Carey helped me through a tough divorce. She is very passionate about her work and helped me win my case. She made me feel relaxed because I could trust her.

I should have known BETTER

First of all, if the day of your consult you arrive to find you prospective attorney wearing house slippers and eating fried chicken, you probably should reconsider. Fast forward, post consultation I agreed to be represented by attorney Carey. At our meetings we did not discuss my case much and talke...d about life in general. I was billed for ALL of this and my legal matter was not handled at all. Her argument was that I agreed to pay a $4750 retainer just to start the case. After consulting my new attorney I learned that I should have been advised to WAIT and not file my case. Nearly $2,000 later nothing has been done on my case so I told her I was hiring a new attorney. She sent me a final bill for $2,000. When I challenged the final bill she agreed to take off $1,000 but my issue was not the amount of the bill it was the fact that she was trying to charge me for services NOT RENDERED. Initially I enjoyed talking to Atty Carey because she was very motherly and comforting but I had no idea I was being charged for idle conversation that had nothing to do with my legal matter. As a professional I felt it important to give my business to another professional of color so I am saddened by this outcome. Now I have to go and pay another attorney to remedy the issue. Lesson learned. I read the reviews and bad press and still gave this attorney a chance to my detriment. Errors that were made with my filings were blamed on "new staff" and "common clerical issues" but this is my life and I am a medical professional who cannot afford to just make errors. I didn't think legal professionals could either. When everything hit the fan Atty Carey's partner threw up the fact that she has been practicing 30+ years and made it seem like I should feel lucky to have her on my case. There are PLENTY of attorneys but definitely NOT enough good ones therefore length of practice and age have nothing to do with competence, dedication and ability. Save your time and money. During the consult make sure that the attorney is clear about what they will do for you and not just rambling on and on about her family and where she went to school and bragging about how long they've been practicing. Length of practice and quality of work did not coincide in my case.

First lawyer experience and worst

Jane Carey handled my case in '07. I had all the faith in her that she would represent me with truth and fairness. Neither came from my case. Long behold, I could have done the same without her. Better yet would have gotten the same results if I didn't show up to court at all. Long behold. Here... it is 2015 and I'm still trying to correct Court errors, final order verbiage, Attorney overlooks and/or disregards etc from a very simple divorce case with children. Would not recommend to my Ex!!!!

The problem I have with these anonymous attacks is that there is no reference point. You are complaining now about a case from 2007. I literally have handled thousands of cases during my career and I have discovered that there are some clients who cannot be satisfied if the law does not coincide with their personal agenda. I invite anyone who has a complaint to report it to the Florida Bar for a more fair and balanced investigation. I have never been disciplined for my failure to adequately represent my clients. While my personality may be more informal than others, it in no way reflects the level of professionalism that I bring to each case. These negative reviews reflect less than 1 percent of my client list in over 30 years of practice.

Best lawyer in Orlando, hands down.

Attorney Carey is extremely compassionate, realistic and honest. She works all times of the day on her clients cases. When I email her, she replies in a timely manner. She was very accomodating during office visits (scheduled and not scheduled) She cared about me and made me feel important. She fo...ught my case (and won), like it was her own case. I absolutely feel she is worth every dime and will use her for future cases. I would strongly recommend this knowledgeable, skilled attorney.

A Caring and Dedicated Lawyer

I had a legal matter that I sought counsel for. I contacted Attorney Carey's office and made an appointment. After discussing the details, she handled my case with professionalism and dedication. She handled the matter quickly and successfully. I would utilize her services and refer Attorney Carey ...over and over again. Thank you so much Attorney Carey.
