Lewis Nicols Van Alstyne III

Mr. Van Alstyne's practice is focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on Construction and Real Estate. He has a wide range of practical work experience both as a construction manager and an engineering project manager. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in construction management, he worked on large and small commercial construction projects as a project engineer with general contractors until he received a graduate certificate in urban and regional planning in 2007.

He then spent the next five years working for a nationwide engineering firm that specializes in facilities, geotechnical, materials testing, and environmental consulting. Lewis learned about each of these four disciplines, but spent most of his time as a project manager in the facilities department conducting engineering assessments, energy audits, capital budget planning, or construction loan monitoring on over 10 million square feet spread across more than 600 retail, office, multi-family, or industrial buildings. On the environmental consulting side of the business, he conducted site reconnaissance and prepared reports for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Limited Site Assessments, Soil Sampling, Groundwater Sampling, and Asbestos Sampling.

Wanting to apply his passion for construction and engineering to the legal realm, he went on to receive his law degree and now enjoys helping clients such as owners, developers, contractors & subs, architects, and engineers.
