Kimberlee Martin is practicing as an associate attorney at Fisher Rushmer, PA. handling civil litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, and criminal law matters. Prior to working at Fisher Rushmer, Ms. Martin served as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of the Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit from 2013-2018 and handled numerous misdemeanor and felony cases both at the adult and juvenile level. She handled all stages of litigation, including initial appearances, pre-trials, trials, appeals, and post-conviction matters. Prior to graduating law school, Ms. Martin worked as a law clerk for the Florida Supreme Court writing legal memorandum regarding writs pending before the court, bar disciplinary matters, and proposed changes to the Florida Bar Rules and Rules of Procedure. She also worked as a CLI with the Carlos A. Costa Immigration and Human Right Legal Clinic handling removal proceedings as well as assisting individuals in obtaining citizenship, resident status, and visas.
Ms. Martin obtained her undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Central Florida, and obtained her J.D., cum laude, from Florida International University College of Law, receiving awards for Excellence in Service and Excellence in Advocacy. Ms. Martin currently sits on the executive board for the Orange County Bar Association's Criminal Law Committee, is a Committee Chair for the Young Lawyers Section, and is apart of the Membership Committee. Ms. Martin also serves as a Board of Director for the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, is a member of the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and the Animal Law Committee of the Florida Bar. In 2016, Ms. Martin was awarded The Top 30 Under 30 Award by the University of Central Florida and has been serving on UCF’s Young Alumni Council since 2017.
