I am Joshua Sinclair, a board-certified specialist in criminal trial law by The Florida Bar. With over eight years of experience and more than 30 jury trials to verdict, I’ve defended clients facing the most serious charges, including attempted murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping.
Before entering private practice, I served as a public defender in one of Florida’s toughest jurisdictions. He has secured many Not Guilty verdicts with juries, as well as at least one confirmed jury nullification, and has filed numerous appeals and writs (ex: writs of habeas corpus, writs of prohibition, etc.). He has a high level of understanding of complex forensic evidence that most attorneys do not, including DNA analysis, latent fingerprint analysis, and cell site tower location data. Among his most impressive appellate and post-conviction victories, Josh was responsible for writing and WINNING an important case that changed Florida law: Dean v. State, 303 So. 3d 257 (5th DCA 2020), which ensured that the change in the theft law changing the felony amount to $750 or more was retroactive to Defendants that had been arrested for the prior felony amount of $300. This opinion was binding, and was adopted across the entire State of Florida, saving many Defendants from what would be felony charges."
