I hired Mr. Rivas to handle a traffic violation. On September 24, 2021, his office missed my virtual hearing, citing a 'connection issue.' Because he was not present, the court immediately entered a Failure to Appear and adjudicated me guilty by default. While technical issues happen, his office f...ailed to promptly address the error. Court records show it took his firm 20 days, until October 14, 2021 to file a motion to vacate the judgment. Because of that unjustifiable three-week delay, the guilty adjudication was processed and transmitted to the New Mexico MVD, and it ultimately transferred to my Florida Commercial Driver's License. Even though the underlying traffic case was later dismissed in November 2021, the administrative delay in correcting his absence caused a permanent blemish on my driving history. As someone with experience driving over-the-road and training other commercial drivers, a clean Motor Vehicle Record is an absolute requirement for employment. A 20-day lapse in communication and basic filing allowed a completely preventable judgment to hit my record. I cannot recommend this firm to any professional driver who relies on diligent, timely representation to protect their livelihood.
