I hired Melanie to sue a customer of mine who wouldn't pay me for a job replacing her subfloor in her house. The bill was over $8000. So I hired Melanie to help me. She filed some paperwork and got the ball rolling. And about 6 months later she calls me and says she can no longer continue due to some... reason about she was having to go to court herself about something she obviously did herself on another case . She didn't explain herself. She left me in a bad way with no lawyer anymore to continue my case. And she refused to pay me back any of the money I had paid her. She just took it and ran off basically. She still has made no effort to contact me or pay me back. I hired her to help me get back money that was owed to me and ended up costing me more money! I would not recommend hiring this person to cut your grass, let alone as a lawyer to fight for you in court. Don't take any chances and look for a different lawyer so this doesn't happen to you too.
