Hello avvo readers, First I would like to say, Divorce is a scenario that affects all family involved, especially the children. Parents should always put their children first and the effects of divorce on children can be devastating. Think about your kids first!!!!! The firm initially assisted me ...with my divorce, during very difficult times and I felt blessed to have them represent me and what I wished to achieve. As my attorney in an abuse protection and divorce case, Michael’s services, counsel and results were outstanding. He refiled with the court multiple requests over the period of 8 months for continuance of my protection order to be sure of my legal safety during the divorce proceedings. Michael, along... with others, highly recommended I change the locks to the house, get cameras out front and back, and have an exit plan. In addition, Michael has a very steady and insightful personally that listened to my gripes and wishes, particularly about the deliberate delays my husband was pursuing to avoid a divorce. He consistently worked with opposing counsel to expedite their delivery of court paperwork, and even had to develop a “motion to compel” with the court to get my husband to complete the financial documents required. Michael also helped me strategize divorce settlement options, giving me pros and cons, so we could land on a beneficial but reasonable offer to present my husband and his attorney. I was favoring one approach and he offered an alternate one that might save me time and money that I had never originally thought of. Even when it came time for a mediation session, Michael drove me to and from his office so I would avoid running into my husband during the session, as we were in separate rooms due to the protection no-contact order. He is a sensitive but focused professional, a trait that helped in my emotional situations during the mediation when opposing attorney learned my husband had omitted to tell him about critical abuse instances of the case. Michael did get me close to an agreeable divorce settlement beyond what either of us suspected would be accepted. However, the divorce did not progress due to my husband’s death.
