Joy Ragan Knight

Joy is a very straight forward attorney. She quickly establishes trust and rapport, creating a safe space where you feel protected, you know she can handle the job. She is also amazing at cutting through BS...as you can imagine, in emotionally embroiled divorces and custody cases, many things are sai...d between the respective parties. Joy is able to cut through the mudslinging, clearly explain your exposure to liability and what to stand up for. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is facing a legal crisis.

Previous experience with attorneys made me leary of them. Joy has completely changed my mind about attorneys. From the minute my husband and I met her, we knew we made the right choice. We felt we could trust her to do what was in our best interest; she knew what she was doing and kept us informed... about the progress of our case. I would highly recommend her to my friends and family.

This attorney is NOT what you look for, in any area of the laws. Do not expect her to say anything valuable for you in court. Her job is being present, yielding nothing (or even additional harm) to you, earning her fees, charging your travel and waiting time, charging her assistant's time for NO RETU...RN TO YOU. You would even want to hire a new graduate, at least who will be interested in your case and spend quality time to find the right law for you. I saw her the other day on TV, News 13, talking with little senses about the laws. She just doesn't get the laws. I hope she did not hire people to post positive reviews here on her. Just read through all reviews. How can one person being on good AND bad extremes?

HIGHLY UNETHICAL ATTORNEY HIGHLY UNETHICAL ATTORNEY HIGHLY UNETHICAL ATTORNEY A few things to my experience: - She did not speak much during any hearing but to let co-defendant's counsel to fight in court; - She did not do much work but will charge you a couple grands; - Upon questions about ...the unjustified charges, she decided to withdraw immediately, this is highly unethical; - She blamed for the mistakes or faults and forgot why she was hired; - She charged her assistant's time even for receiving an email from clients;

Joy demonstrates poor communication with client, does not return phone calls, does not discuss legal strategy prior to hearings, is not aggressive in arguing an issue or defending a point, and pretty much lost almost every motion filed on my behalf in my pending divorce. It eventually became apparen...t I would be better off representing myself if I had the choice. I would definitely recommend seeking another lawyer to represent you in a contested divorce case.
