Joy Ragan Knight

I was vary reserved about choosing a Lawfirm. We met with Tom Marks initially for a consultation because we were dealing with a unique situation and case. Our pastor actually recommended them. Tom was honest with us which was a relief because my experience has been anything but honest with others. H...e gave us vary accurate cost consideration from best case scenario to worst case scenario which helped to be prepared for the worst and budget for the worst. Most just say my retainer is this and every case is different. But he went in depth about all the things that could happen and why it could end up being very expensive. And felt my case was mathematically a high probability to be on the worst end. And the worst case scenario came to pass. We ended up choosing Joy Ragan as our attorney who is within the umbrella of The Marks Lawfirm. Mostly because Tom recommended her and felt would be better fit for our situation. It's been 10 months since our case was finalized and I'm just getting around to writing a review. Reviews I don't give very often but when it comes to lawyers they are few and far between to find real honest ones. They handled my case with grace. Dealt with serious issues in a timely manner, which were many issues from out of state children,contempt, a slew of others issues. Mostly Joy just talked me off the ledge a lot just because the issues were emotional. And you never make good choices when emotion is involved. She gave good counsel. And made my life less stressful in dealing with a vary complex family situation. I can't say I would have been able to accomplish the results without them as advocates behind me. It's not everyday a father gets what he wants let alone everything he asked for in court. But I only asked for what was fair not anything unreasonable. I'd recommend them to anyone serious about navigating the family court system and wants to take the high road of doing right by your family. I'd NOT recommend them if your looking for EVERYTHING you can get from the court system. They will tell you to consider the family above any selfish or vindictive motivation and I loved that about them. And if your motivation is that I would say they'd rather not have you as a client. I also loved that too!! Five stars.

Joy is a very straight forward attorney. She quickly establishes trust and rapport, creating a safe space where you feel protected, you know she can handle the job. She is also amazing at cutting through BS...as you can imagine, in emotionally embroiled divorces and custody cases, many things are sai...d between the respective parties. Joy is able to cut through the mudslinging, clearly explain your exposure to liability and what to stand up for. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is facing a legal crisis.
