I retained Chris 4/1/2015 for a child custody matter. Despite my constant requests that he stop settlement attempts with opposing counsel and request a court date, Chris allowed the matter to drag on for nearly two years. He didn’t even start preparing a case until 12/19/2016 – the day before trial! ...I was not at all surprised that he failed to legally prove the required substantial change in circumstances – especially after realizing he had not even reviewed current relevant case law. However, claiming a “medical emergency” to avoid speaking with me after the judge’s order was issued, and then failing to contact me since to finish the case (issue of attorney’s fees has not yet been heard) has absolutely confirmed to me what an incompetent attorney he is.

I was forced to hire a new attorney when it became clear that my current attorney did not know anything. Fortunately I found Chris Smed. He was able to gather the missing documents and allowed my wife and I to settle our divorce without having to go to trial. I would definiately recommend Mr. Smed...
