Douglas Paul Gerber

Douglas Gerber is Of Counsel for Pearson Bitman LLP, focusing on commercial and residential evictions, probate, eminent domain, and creditor's rights/collections.

A native Floridian, Douglas earned his bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida. After working for a public relations agency in Fort Lauderdale, Douglas returned to the University of Florida to earn his master’s degree in exercise and sport sciences with a specialization in sports management. 

After obtaining his master’s degree, Douglas was a sports administrator with the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports/Sunshine State Games. While with the Governor’s Council on Sports, Douglas was also a writer and assistant editor for Sports in Florida magazine and the Editor in Chief of Fitness In Florida magazine. Douglas also worked in media relations for Florida Citrus Sports, where was involved with the media operations and logistics for college football bowl and regular season games, NFL preseason games and training camps and the soccer competition in Orlando for the 1996 Olympic Games.

Douglas decided to pursue a career in law in 2002. He attended the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University. While at Nova, Douglas interned with circuit court Judge Thomas M. Lynch in and for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida and with the City Attorney’s Office for the City of Coral Springs. Douglas served as a staff member and Articles Editor of the Nova Law Review, and had an article published in the Fall 2003 issue of the Nova Law Review. He was also a member of the Pro Bono Honor Society at Nova.

Douglas was admitted to the Florida Bar 2005 and to the U.S. District Court in and for the Middle District of Florida in 2006.
