Doesn’t Care About Clients

Good Evening, I would like to take an opportunity to outline the experience I have had with your company, and how unfairly I have been treated by Shochet Law Group at EVERY stage that my case has been dealt with. I would like to say that at this juncture, the ONLY bright spot I have found within... your company has been Marla, who has been as helpful as she can be, given that it appears EVERYONE else in your firm is making their best effort to prevent me from receiving my payments timely. The following is a complete timeline of my dealings with your firm and TPC regarding my master bathroom claim. September 23, 2018 Ceiling leak appears and is linked to BOTH my upstairs bathrooms. I contact TPC for assistance and claims are opened for both the guest & master baths. Somewhere between September 23 & December 9, 2018 State Farm (my insurer) assumes that the second bathroom claim is a duplicate and unilaterally closes the claim. Todd, who is my public adjuster at the time, says that we will continue to pursue payment of the guest bathroom; however, due to State Farm unilaterally closing the master bath claim without follow up, he refers me to Shochet Law Group for the master bath claim. December 9, 2018 I contact Shochet Law Group regarding the master bathroom claim and am forwarded paperwork to sign and told that I should hear something within 30 days of returning the paperwork. December 10, 2018 The signed paperwork is returned to Shochet Law Group via fax. January 10, 2019 I reach out to Shochet Law Group to confirm the status of my claim and determine if they have filed suit. I manage to reach the paralegal at the time, Devin, who said there was no record in his computer that my paperwork was received. I assured him that it was faxed on 12/10/18 and I had confirmation. Devin said he would look into it and get back to me. I received no response. January 14, 2019 I requested a meeting with Dan, the attorney assigned to my case, and the phone meeting was scheduled for January 17. January 17, 2019 I received an email from Dan that he had unilaterally cancelled my meeting with him because the status "had not changed." Periodically from January 18 - June 4, 2019 I tried several times to contact Devin and Shochet Law Group regarding the status of my claim via telephone. My calls were never returned. June 4, 2019 I receive an email from TPC stating that Shochet Law Group is no longer involved in my master bathroom claim and that I should pursue it through TPC only. June 6, 2019 I receive an email from Eli basically outlining what sounds to be a familial dispute between himself and his father, Pat. I find it terribly unprofessional, but since it is my understanding that Shochet is no longer involved, and to date have not filed suit on my claim nor responded to any of my inquiries, I ignore it. Various Dates from June 11 - July 19, 2019 I have ongoing email and phone communication about my claim with Laura Peterson of TPC. She negotiates a settlement on my master bathroom for $9,200 on July 19, 2019 and I am notified that State Farm will be overnighting me a check the following week. July 26, 2019 I have not received the check and follow up with Laura at TPC. I am notified that somewhere during the negotiation, Shochet filed suit with State Farm and this is holding up the check. Since TPC opened the new master bath claim, and the paperwork I signed was under the old claim number which had been closed, I think there is a STRONG possibility that the claim number on my signed paperwork with Shochet does not match the claim number that the suit was filed under. If that is the case, does Shochet have the right to even represent me in this claim? July 29, 2019 I receive a letter from Shochet Law Group and a check for $8252.54 (less than the $9,200 negotiated by TPC).

Stay away

This Attorney did not live up to expectations. There was a failure to communicate, there were untruths, there was inability to communicate (emails were returned with a message that they were opening a new office, phone calls to another attorney in the office were not answered, etc). I had no way to... get my check from the insurance company. Excuses were ridiculous. Finally had police accompany me to the office and videoed the "meeting" that took place outside the door because I was not allowed access to the office. Agreement made in that "meeting" was not lived up to by the other attorney. I called another attorney who then called the counsel for the insurance company who then of course called my attorney (since my attorney was attorney of record) and then the lawyers office turned sick sweet. and I had my check 2 days later. I can not recommend Shochet Law Group.

Never Again...

What a treacherous experience dealing with this firm was. Meeting with Randy was like meeting a used car salesman, down to his build and demeanor. He swindled me out of hard earned money only to file unnecessary claims against me for nonpayment during negotiation! Don't get your money tied up wit...h this guy!!

I truly doubt this is from a bona fide client.
