Joshua M. Silverman

Mr. Silverman represented me in an extremely sensitive case. At the time I was extremely stressed and not only was he first class, caring and always available (day & NIGHT 7 days a week). He took the time to listen to all my concerns, offer alternative opinions when asked and moved forward in a dir...ect and diligent fashion. Most other firms I have engaged in the past are unfortunately billing machines which could not be farther from the truth when it came to Mr. Silverman, his billing of time and fees was extremely fair. The most important thing I need to state about Mr. Silverman is due to his expeditious handling of the matter and thorough approach I received an excellent outcome. I would highly recommend Mr. Silverman to anyone I know.

With previous lawyers, I felt like I was representing myself in the courtroom. With Mr. Silverman representing me, I quickly learned to sit back and let him take the lead. His knowledge, his prosecutor experience, and his strategic thinking was refreshing. He was repeatedly successful in my case b...y presenting case facts and relevant rulings from similar trials instead of pushing opinions and hear-say. He saved me a lot of money by limiting depositions and witnesses that were not necessary. His interactions with others made it obvious that he is highly respected in his field. I highly recommend anyone talk with Mr. Silverman before hiring a lawyer.

I came to Silverman after being charged with a DUI. He was recommended by another attorney I know to be an extremely reputable attorney, and he has a perfect rating on this site, but I'm really disappointed with how he seemed to handle my case. At first, he seemed very promising and positive about my... case with getting me deferred prosecution. It took about five to six months for him to finally tell me that the deferred was denied and I was going to have to go to trial if I wanted to try and have the charge dropped. I didn't accept that and went to a different attorney, who was able to get me deferred prosecution. Silverman was made very aware deferred was what I was going for. Also, it was very difficult to talk to him at all. Whenever I tried to call, I always got his secretary telling me they would have him call me back, which he pretty much never would. He only did when he was called repeatedly, in a short time span. The one good thing he did do for me, though, was winning my license back from the DMV. Overall, it feels that he did not do too much work for my case, but I wouldn't really know because I could never get in touch with him to communicate with him. He told me I had a case that could definitely be worth trying in court when he did finally have to meet up with me and talk about my decision to go to court or not, and he may have represented me to the point where everything was dropped, but I couldn't be totally comfortable with that because of his inaccessibility and failure to keep me informed on the current status of my case. I'm sure he has done well for other clients, but I feel that in the six to seven months that he was my attorney, I could have been already a few months in with my deferred prosecution.

in my experiences I have found there to be two type attorneys; those who have the best interest of the law firm in mind, and those who have only the best interest of the client at heart. The former seems to have no problem in maintaining a never-ending aggressive and litigious posture. The latter ...really gets to know his client, establishes trust and sets boundaries in both directions - and most of all puts ethics before all else. I can say without hesitation that Josh Silverman falls into the latter mold. Knowledge is beyond what is ever expected (I have been there many times when other, competing attorneys have called Josh for advise or a clear take on a ruling or case history). Josh knows when to be calm, use the velvet hammer, or come down with an anvil (on either me, or apposing counsel)...all while doing it with perfectly timed moments of wit and humor. Most important, is the level of ethics and calmness that Josh exhibits at all times. Nobody wins in family law - but Josh makes one feel good about the process because the high road might be less traveled, but gets us where we want to be. I would recommend Josh at any time (and I have)
