Jennifer Byrom

I would never use her again. Long story short... I went to her for a divorce. Paralegal was great, did all the work. The paralegal and I had put together a good game plan for the mediation. Jennifer Byrom came to the mediation without the paralegal and the game plan went out the window. I walked ...out with my head spinning and a non-modifiable alimony which gives my ex more than 70% of my pay (after taxes), and much more. Right afterwards, my ex got a job, she cohabitates with her fiancé, and she gets my alimony. I cant do anything about it because of the "non-modifiable' statement. Yes, I blame myself for not doing better. But, I had never been through a divorce, I didn't know all the options, etc, so I essentially put all my faith and trust in an 'expert", someone who has been doing this for many many years. In the end, I got screwed, but she sure got paid!

I recently retained Mrs. Byrom located in Santa Rosa County for a Dissolution of Marriage. It began as many as an uncontested divorce, after both parties retained attorneys it soon turned into contested. The first Court date (many weeks later, because the attorney’s HATED each other) the judge said ...that he would NEVER give the Respondent 50/50 timesharing rights, because they had previously signed most rights associated with the child. Instead of Mrs. Byrom’s office hurrying and taking care of the paperwork before the end of the year (4months) they waited & waited & waited. After the Paralegal was called and then the attorney MULTIPLE times, we got a court date into the next year and we got a new judge who had a different point of view. LONG LONG LONG story short, because of their laziness, disorganization, and lack of knowledge my child is in an unstable environment 50% of the time. Almost a year later I am still trying to be done with this process. I get a call from her letting me know that I have to pay my bill over $7,000 in FULL before she would file my final paperwork ( oh and make sure you read that little print on the contract your signing). I am single now with all the responsibilities of a family and all this hurt I have dealt with and now I have to FIND money NOW! Or it still won’t be over!!! I am not an angry person and I am not spiteful person but I don’t want ANYONE to have to go through what my family and I have. Oh and on these review sites if it looks like “fluff” it probably is!!!!! Happy Person That Has a Beautiful Child and Is Trying To Do My Best!

I was very disappointed with my experience with Jennifer Byrom. She filed my divorce papers and that was about it. My ex husband kept putting off mediation and I felt like Jennifer's office was not proactive to push things forward yet my bill kept going up. I spent 15 months without child suppor...t and got the feeling that her office didn't care. I contacted them and told them I was struggling financially without any support and they did nothing. I spent $8000 and when they told me that my retainer was all used up I made the decision to move to another attorney firm. Apparently there are many dissatisfied people with Jennifer.

I chose Jennifer Byrom thinking I was getting a female and mother who would support my daughter & I in a divorce. BOY, was I wrong the only thing she supported were her pockets. She got her retainer in full & then after not depositing the EX stating she had another appointment, yeah, getting her na...ils done, she did however state that she would depo him prior to the hearing, after the hearing, prior to the mediation, after the mediation, she never did. Then during mediation she ordered her lunch & also left ½ way thought to go pick up her child from school. Then as the mediation ran into 6 hrs she got a lil pissy, I guess she wanted to go home, meanwhile she never got me or my daughter anything. She was well aware that there was 10 years of domestic violence & never brought anything up. I am now having to re-open the decree in order to get the correct amount of child support & as soon as this is all cleared up I will find a malpractice lawyer to go after her. She did absolutely NOTHING for me but come to find out since we live in a small town she has done this several other times, so I am also forming a group of her former clients for a group action against her. If you hire Jennifer after reading this you’ll get exactly what you deserve. Please also go to the other lawyer review sites & you’ll see several other reviews of disgust not only from me but other who t thought she would do the right thing.
