also known as Trey
I am a member of the Florida Bar, the Louisiana Bar, the Northern District of Florida Federal Bar, and the Federal Tax Court Bar. I have also been an adjunct professor teaching law at the University of West Florida.
I graduated from Louisiana State University where I found an interest in the study of law. I was extremely active at Southern University Law School where I received my Juris Doctorate with honors, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review; member of the Moot Court Board; and was awarded the Cicardo Award for outstanding advocacy with the law school's low income tax clinic. I also earned a Master’s of Law (LL.M.) in federal taxation from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida.
After practicing tax and corporate law in South Florida, I discovered a passion for criminal law and trial advocacy. Over the years, I have now successfully handled thousands of criminal cases, numerous jury and judge trials, as well as success with bond, VOP, and restitution hearings. I have also assembled and work closely with a team of other talented lawyers for clients on personal injury, replevin actions, and other civil litigation.
I have been married for 20 years and am the father of two. I round out my
personal life by being active at my childrens' public school. I am an advanced PADI
scuba diver and an avid motorcyclist.

Great!
David and Trey handle my case the best way possible. It was my first time offense and they made sure I could get into the diversion program to have everything expunged in the shortest amount of time. They always answered all my phone calls and answered all my questions which were a lot being a first-...

Thorough and Consistent
I came across Mr. Parnell's biography through an internet search regarding a similar situation he had previously handled. I was impressed with his candid and concerned questions once we met for the initial consultation. I have recommended Mr. Parnell and will continue to do so, as he is one of...
"Mr. Parnell has been a friend and mentor to me since I returned to the area after finishing law school. I am now blessed to say that I share space with him at 212 W Cervantes. He is as knowledgeable as he is approachable and kind. I endorse him without hesitation."
"I have known Trey for about a decade, since we worked together at the Public Defender's office. He had the chops for criminal defense and I decided to focus on something tamer... Trey is a great attorney, knowledgeable in both the law and the peculiarities of basically every prosecutor and judge. Trey gives every case his all and works late into the night and well into the weekend for his clients."
