Worst lawyer ever. Wait til you meet him

I cannot recommend Alexander Liebmann, particularly for representation in a criminal matter where a client’s liberty is at stake. I retained Mr. Liebmann during an extraordinarily serious and vulnerable period of my life. I was simultaneously dealing with criminal proceedings and related civil lit...igation, and I repeatedly provided him with information and evidence that I believed was critical to understanding how those matters intersected. My experience left me with profound concerns about the representation I received. I did not believe critical evidence and issues I raised were adequately pursued, and there were significant communications and circumstances surrounding my representation that I did not understand at the time. What has troubled me even more is information I subsequently obtained concerning individuals connected to the proceedings and events that occurred while Mr. Liebmann represented me. That information has caused me to reevaluate aspects of the representation and has raised serious questions for me that I believe ultimately deserve answers through the appropriate legal process. One of the most disturbing experiences occurred after communication with Mr. Liebmann had effectively gone silent. He then unexpectedly appeared at the courthouse on the day of my plea conference. Given the circumstances surrounding my representation and what I subsequently learned, I found that deeply troubling. I want to be precise: I am not accusing Mr. Liebmann of committing a crime. I am describing my personal experience as his client, the concerns that experience created, and my resulting opinion of the representation I received. When someone’s liberty is at stake, trust between attorney and client is indispensable. By the conclusion of my experience, that trust was completely gone. Based upon my personal experience, I would not retain Mr. Liebmann again and cannot recommend him.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
