Terrible demeanor

He was very rude .. would not listen to me !!! All he wanted me to do is see how much I had on each of my credit cards to drain me dry . I was requesting a divorce and knowing I had to put food in the table to feed my kids . He wanted to drain my credit cards just to pay him . Sent me down the street... to a bank to get a freaking loan to pay him . He’s very inconsiderate!!!!!!

Doesn't care about the Client

This man is what gives an attorney a bad name. The one who is only out for him and pays no attention to the clients. He's overbearing and doesn't want to listen to the client when they try to explain what they want. He's only after the money. I had a hearing and he blurted out extremely wrong informa...tion about me in front of the judge, my ex and her lawyer......both my ex and I knew it was incorrect and let it be known that he was wrong. He looked like an idiot and just fumbled along with other crap. Then looks baffled when I lost my case. Waste of time and money. You get what you pay for.

Avoid at all costs - Does not care about the client & if you ask a question about his contract he will refuse you service

Mr Hilley declined my mother's case [Speeding Ticket] What is interesting to me is the timing of his decision. Right after I questioned a clause on his contract that is open-ended and says whatever costs he incurs in representing my mother can become a charge for her in the future. Candidly, no... sane and sober person should ever agree to such clause, so that leads me to think he is either very unsophisticated, deliberately trying to set people up for unforeseen, unplanned and unbudgeted expenses or just does not care about his potential clients. As if this wasn't enough, his paralegal tells me that said contract is a standard Florida Bar Contract. Now, if that is the case, God help us. I dont want to know who created those templates and I feel bad for lawyers who arent creative enough to draft a form that is not so unilateral towards them and actually shows clients they they are protected and cared about. Then the story gets even better, I make the mistake of calling the florida bar [licensing agency for lawyers/attorneys in the State of Florida] First thing they tell me: Mr Hilley used a Standard Florida Bar Contract. To which I respond: Who am I kidding? Florida Bar Entity is structured to protect their own and not the consumer of course. So Mr. Hilley can use the "standard" contract, as unilateral as it is because it is legal [according the the peanut gallery at florida bar] and I reminded "Bill" the attorney who took my complaint that, just a few years ago, slavery was legal too and it took a few people disagreeing with it for change to happen. But I do agree, that as long as enough people tolerate these nonsensical standard contracts and idiotic attorneys, the consumer have no alternative, these so called professional who are really pseudo professionals or wannabes to thrive in their delusion they are helping the public. Now the point of the story: Lawyers have a despicable reputation and it's tough to feel bad for them because they dig a massive grave for themselves so they might as well jump in and enjoy it.

Get what you pay for

I hired Mr. HIlley to handle my divorce. He was never available, the information he told me to gather - at a cost of nearly $1000-was useless when we got to court because the judge threw it all out for not report it to the court in a timely fashion. This has cost me a lot our money just to do what I ...basically could have done on my own without paying him a cent.he never had time to advise me when situations would arise. Thank you from hearing my complaint.
