Not good with younger clients bad communication skills unapproachable

Had a case where I was wrongfully arrested for someone else’s drugs in my car the police left out the other party in the police report. There was very little done to prove my innocence in general court was drugged out longer than it had to be for me to have to take a felony charge with the Ju vacatio...n was held on my first charge ever Had I gotten PTI. My life could probably be a lot different that charge set the tone for the rest of my life, I was 18 years old with two new babies. I was simply exhausted in the car after I found the bottle of pills that was left in there I knew they were my boyfriends and he was never consulted with or talked to by anybody or anything And that is why I feel like he just did not do his job or his homework or his research in order to get me a good deal in court I feel like a public defender could’ve done just as well if not better for way less than $8000 flat rate

Convicted felons are not known for being honest. Based on what Anonymous says "I was 18 years old with two new babies." If that were true then she would have had the Department of Children and Family Services and Child Protection Team involved with her children and I would know about it because the law enforcement records in a drug case would have documented those circumstances. I have not recently represented anyone with these characteristics and my two paralegals who have been with me for years have no independent recollection of any such person. Anonymous does not state when she was arrested, where she was arrested, what agency arrested her, and only says, ".... I was wrongfully arrested for someone else's drugs in my car..." Her comments do not match any recent cases that I have represented. Anonymous suggests there was a "$8000 flat rate." I require a written retainer contract that is signed by my client or by the Third-Party Payor (ie., parents, grandparents, or other source of payment for legal fees). If my client was 18 year old, I would require at least one parent or a guardian to sign the retainer contract. I have not ever met an 18 years old with two babies who had $8,000.00 to pay me in legal fees. I also do not have any recent contracts for $8,000.00, If that client was 18 years old with two babies, I would have insisted on having at least one parent or a legal guardian to sign the retainer contract to avoid any suggestion of taking financial advantage of an 18 year old child with two babies. "Anonymous" is invited to contact my office regarding her allegations. Anyone who has any knowledge of the true identity of Anonymous is invited to contact my office and discuss her identity with me.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
