Estonna Maria Garrett

Estonna Garrett grew up in Macon, Georgia and moved to Florida in 1994. She graduated cum laude from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Estonna obtained her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan in 2002 with a concentration in Litigation. Estonna was a member of the Moot Court Board and participated in several Moot Court competitions during her time in law school.
Estonna was certified with the Florida Bar in May 2003 and was certified with the Middle District of Florida in 2005. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the E. Robert Williams American Inn of Court in Jacksonville, Florida.

Estonna began her professional career as an Assistant Public Defender in 2003 with the Public Defender’s Office of the 20th Judicial Circuit. She spent the first 3 years of her career as a criminal defense attorney. However, she transitioned her career to the workers’ compensation field in 2006 as a result of a worker’s compensation injury her father suffered that left him permanently disabled. Estonna understands the difficulties that injured workers face in going through a workers’ compensation claim and she has the compassion and understanding to help those that have been injured on the job. She has spent the last 13 years specializing in workers’ compensation. Although she initially represented the insurance companies, she has spent the majority of the time representing the injured worker. She feels that it is much more rewarding helping those that have been injured. Also, she believes that in having experience on both sides, she is able to give her clients a better insight with regards to their claim.

Estonna joined Harrell and Harrell in 2019 as an attorney to represent injured workers. She relocated from Fort Myers after practicing in the Southwest Florida area for almost 15 years. Outside of work, Estonna enjoys going to the gym; church; spending time with her family; and her dog and cat, Shiloh and Dakota. She is also a level one certified instructor for the United States Krav Maga Association. In addition, Estonna also has a passion for traveling recently spending time exploring Ireland.
