Ria Rana is the founder of Rana Immigration Law, a Jacksonville-based immigration law firm serving clients throughout the United States. She works with individuals and families seeking to build their lives in the United States through family-based immigration, humanitarian relief, naturalization, and removal defense. As an immigrant herself, Ria understands firsthand the opportunities and challenges that come with navigating the U.S. immigration system and is committed to providing compassionate, practical, and effective representation.
Ria has been an attorney for more than fourteen years. She began her legal career practicing immigration law in New York, where she represented clients in family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian immigration matters. She prepared and filed immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applications, adjustment of status applications, consular processing cases, motions to reopen, motions to reconsider, and employment-based petitions across a wide range of visa categories.
In addition to her immigration practice, Ria spent several years as a litigator in New York City, representing clients in complex civil litigation matters and appearing in courts throughout the state. She later joined Thomson Reuters as an attorney editor, where she researched, wrote, and edited legal content for attorneys nationwide. Her work included analyzing statutes, regulations, and case law, as well as writing about immigration law and policy developments.
Throughout her career, Ria has been driven by a desire to help people through some of the most important moments of their lives. She believes immigration representation should be both highly skilled and deeply personal. As a solo practitioner, she works directly with every client and takes pride in providing individualized guidance, clear communication, and carefully prepared filings.
Ria earned her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). When she is not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, staying active through yoga and fitness, and exploring Florida's natural beauty.
