Eric C. Ragatz

Eric C. Ragatz is a Jacksonville native. He graduated from Wolfson High School. Eric attended Florida State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1992. He received his Juris Doctorate degree cum laude from the Stetson University College of Law in 1996 before moving back to Jacksonville to begin his law practice. Eric is also married to a Jacksonville native.

Eric has represented injured clients for over a decade. He is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell– the highest rating available by this national attorney rating service.  Eric was listed in 2014 as a Florida Super Lawyers. He takes pride in his ability to help level the playing field for the wrongfully injured against big insurance companies. Eric’s practice areas include personal injury and wrongful death cases, nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, products liability and complex civil litigation. Eric has authored, individually and with others, various sections in The Florida Bar, Florida Civil Practice for Trial, 7th Ed. This is a series of publications designed to aid Florida lawyers in practicing more efficiently and effectively in civil litigation.

Eric is admitted to all Florida Courts, all United States District Courts in Florida and is a licensed member of the State Bar of Georgia. This enables Eric to represent clients throughout Georgia and Florida. Eric is also a member of the local Jacksonville Bar, the Jacksonville Justice Association and the statewide Florida Justice Association. The Association advocates the interests of injured Florida citizens before the Florida Legislature and in the courtroom.

Eric has been involved in many jury trials in complex products liability cases and in serious personal injury cases. He has also arbitrated defective medical products liability claims in Federal Court and has presented several seven-figure settlement presentations to insurance companies in complex personal injury cases.

Eric is also a proud member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. The Inn of Court is a group of judges and attorneys who meet periodically to discuss issues of interest to the legal community, emphasizing professionalism, ethics and civility in the practice of law.
