Katherine C. (“Kasey”) Wagner is an experienced attorney whose practice focuses on personal injury, nursing home abuse, assisted living facility neglect, automobile accidents, truck accidents, dog bites and attacks, defective products, workplace injuries, and wrongful deaths.
Kasey is a native Floridian, who graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University in North Carolina in 2000 with a double-major in both Politics and Sociology. Kasey continued her education at Wake Forest University School of Law, attending law school on a full-ride scholarship, graduating in the top third of her class, and competing nationally on the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s trial team.
Following her graduation from law school in 2004, Kasey spent five years representing insurance companies and self-insured corporations defending personal injury claims. She then took that experience and began working for injured individuals. Kasey’s experience in insurance defense gave her an insider’s look at the methods used by insurers and their lawyers, and has equipped her well to pursue claims on behalf of those who have been injured by another’s negligence. Kasey successfully handled cases across the state, conducting depositions and mediations, arguing motions, and trying cases, and she was repeatedly named a Rising Star by the North Carolina Super Lawyers publication from 2011-2014, a distinction achieved by less than three percent of the lawyers in the state.
In 2012, Kasey moved to Jacksonville to be closer to family, while continuing to handle cases back in North Carolina. After settling her last North Carolina case, Kasey practiced with the Dearing Law Firm assisting with complex business litigation matters. Kasey also served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Coastal School of Law, where she taught classes in Pretrial Litigation Drafting, Advanced Florida Bar Studies, and Public Speaking. Kasey then joined The Lawrence Law Group to return to her work handling cases for injured individuals.
Kasey believes strongly in serving her community, and regularly volunteers on cases for clients through the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid office. Kasey is also an active member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, serving on the Pro Bono and Judicial Relations Committees. Kasey sits on the Board of Directors for Three Rivers Legal Services, a legal aid non-profit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low-income, eligible clients in seventeen counties in North Florida. Additionally, Kasey serves on the planning committee for ExZOOberation, the annual fundraising gala that benefits the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Kasey’s interests include spending time with her husband and twin daughters, traveling, scuba diving, boating, kayaking, working out, and running.
