Katie gained indispensable knowledge while clerking at the Fourth District Court of Appeal and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012. She joined Zisser Family Law in 2015, where she has attained invaluable experience working with long-time mentors Barry and Elliot Zisser.
In 2021, Katie received her Board Certification in Marital and Family law from The Florida Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization & Education. Katie joins Elliot Zisser, along with only 10 other attorneys including members of the Judiciary in Northeast Florida, who have earned this certification. Katie is also one of the youngest attorneys in Jacksonville to achieve this milestone.
Katie’s law practice focuses on Family Law, specifically complicated divorce, alimony and child custody cases. Her expertise lies in conflict resolution, long-term support claims, business valuation or asset tracing issues, or situations involving the safety and wellbeing of children.
During your initial consultation, Katie will discuss the legal process and strategic litigation, including investigating and preserving hidden income and assets. She will explain the pros and cons of going to trial and what outcome you can reasonably expect if your case is ultimately decided by the court. She will also discuss whether it is in your best interest to settle your case through early negotiations or mediation. While this process may seem obvious, there are many lawyers that fail to educate their clients on reasonable solutions, and as a result, waste their client’s time and money.
A native of South Florida, Katie has called Jacksonville home for the last decade. She and her husband are the proud parents of two daughters and a French bulldog.
