Zachary Richter Shafer

Zachary and his father were a blessing from God. In 2016, my wife was referred to them from a family member after I received a DUI. She called overnight and Zachary was actually present at my first hearing. At this time he was able to get much needed leniency in regards to my case from the judge a...nd I was allowed to be released on my own recognizance. Zachary and his father were always very upfront with me and explained everything down to every little detail. In addition, they were real with me and spoke to me as if I were a family member instead of as a client. Unfortunately, I have had to hire them again after receiving another DUI and just as upfront as they were the first time they were just as amazing during this last ordeal. I was very skeptical and thought that I would be looked down upon for the things that I had done but at no time did they make me feel less than a person for my very stupid decisions. Zachary Shafer, as well as the entire Shafer firm, are incredibly professional but yet, were fun to work with. Zach had a way of keeping things very real with me but delivering them in a humorous way & making me so comfortable with him that I trusted Zach entirely. In 2015 I got arrested for domestic battery & with the help of Zach & his father Robert, the charge was reduced to fighting & I had to pay the court only 98 dollars. Recently in 2018, I was charged & arrested for the same offense against the same person. Zach was able to get the second case completely dropped & I had to pay the court nothing, which is AMAZING because of the fact that the second offense against the same person would most likely get you jail time or probation/anger management. I heard about this firm in 2015 when I was scared & looking for a lawyer to help me with my first case ever & I've maintained a relationship with them till now & will continue to refer them to friends or family that are seeking help. Zachary is very personable, approachable and has a good relationship with the court as well as a strong professional network with other attorneys in the practice. This is a plus if you are dealing with drug charges like mine. He is a bull dog when confronting non-reasonable people. Zachary is no push... over, he pushes back. There were periods where I thought Zachary was putting his career on the line for me as he powerfully and passionately spoke up to the Court. Zachary later told me that he did it because he felt that it was the right thing to do. He had to let the court know the truth no matter what. I was touched. Zachary has been a dedicated counsel and friend. I feel bad that I am eating into his personal time, but he constantly assures me that it’s okay, and he’s always available.
