Poor Work Ethic, Leaves out Critical Case Info

I hired Matthews, with Morgan & Morgan, to represent me in a worker's comp case. I was led to accept a monetary settlement with her failure to advise me of or bring my attention to additional provisions/stipulations which would later be added. When I inform Matthews that I expected her to correct ...this error by getting me out of the ill-advised agreement due to lack of due diligence, she filed a motion to be removed from my case! She led me to a sinking ship and refused to throw a life preserver out to me, sort of speak. Adding insult to injury she file a motion with the compensation judge to place a lien to be paid her FULL service fee 25%! She quits the job, that was poorly preformed, then feels entitled to full payment. This law firm, not just this attorney, is not the place to go for workers comp cases. Stick with Board Certified Workers Comp Lawyers. Matthews claimed she worked hard on my case but the results speak for itself. IF she's indeed worked hard on my case I would not have given my affirmative to a settlement agreement had she given me ALL the additional details. She made a mistake, by omission, that's human. The ethical action would be to correct or make it right, she did not. She dropped/abandon her client.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
