Based on my personal experience, I would NEVER recommend Attorney Jennifer Dickens for a family law or custody case. I paid approximately $10,000 in attorney’s fees, and after roughly nine months of representation, my case had only reached a temporary needs hearing. During that entire time, I met ...Attorney Dickens in person ONE time—the day of my hearing. I wanted the opportunity to sit down with my attorney, face-to-face, to discuss my case, evidence, concerns, and strategy. That never happened before my hearing. Much of my communication was handled through her assistant. I did an enormous amount of work preparing my case. I provided Attorney Dickens with an immense amount of evidence and personally organized a complete exhibit file. I trusted that the evidence I spent months collecting would be thoroughly reviewed and effectively used to advocate for me and my child. I walked away feeling completely let down. I also had witnesses who TOOK OFF FROM WORK to attend my hearing and testify on my behalf. They rearranged their schedules because their testimony was important to my case. Yet they were not meaningfully questioned. They took off work and came to court for essentially nothing. Meanwhile, my child’s father’s wife testified. I believed portions of her testimony were untrue and could have been challenged, yet I felt Attorney Dickens showed little interest in thoroughly questioning her or challenging those statements. I had provided information and evidence that I believed could have been used to address what was being said, and it was extremely frustrating to sit there and watch this happen. My preparation for the hearing was another major disappointment. I was not meaningfully prepared until the NIGHT BEFORE my hearing. This was a custody matter involving my child. After paying thousands of dollars for representation, I expected my attorney to prepare me well before the night before court. The lack of compassion and professionalism I personally experienced was just as disappointing. At one point, Attorney Dickens accused me of being “fussy” with her because I did not respond to an email she had sent me. I found that comment dismissive and inappropriate, especially considering the stress I was under dealing with a custody case. What happened after my hearing really stayed with me. This was an extremely emotional proceeding involving my child. Attorney Dickens did not call afterward to ask how I was doing or check on me. Instead, after the hearing, she told me she had to leave because she needed to “beat traffic.” That moment spoke volumes to me. I had just gone through a court hearing involving my child and our future, after paying approximately $10,000 for legal representation, and my attorney’s immediate concern, from my perspective, appeared to be getting on the road before traffic. There was no meaningful conversation afterward about how I was feeling or what had just happened. I left feeling like I was simply another case. I understand that NO attorney can guarantee a particular outcome in court. My dissatisfaction is not simply because I did not receive the outcome I wanted. My concerns are about the representation I personally experienced: approximately $10,000 in fees, only meeting my attorney in person once, communication frequently going through an assistant, last-minute hearing preparation, witnesses who took off work but were not meaningfully questioned, evidence I worked tirelessly to organize that I felt was not effectively utilized, and what I experienced as a lack of compassion during one of the most difficult situations involving my child. I hired an attorney because I needed someone to advocate for my interests and help me navigate something I could not navigate alone. I left this experience feeling that I had done more preparation for my case than the person I was paying to represent me. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE HIRING ATTORNEY JENNIFER DICKENS.

Jennifer Dickens raped my emotions and lied to me during a traumatic period of my life. Jennifer knew another lawyer had lied to me and over charged me for a divorce that he never helped me fight. Jennifer encouraged me to contact the Florida Bar and report that lawyer; yet she did the same thing ...to me. During the consultation, she shared she would help me fight my case and be redeemed. Yet, after she took my money all I heard was "no","I can't" and you "don't have a case." I was devastated by her lack of representation or care. She is a horrible person and lawyer. Instead of helping women during one of the most emotional times of their lives, she annihilates their hearts and leaves them more damaged than before meeting her. Never trust her, what she did to me was haneious and cruel.

Jennifer Dickens is willing to represent clients solely for her own financial gain, regardless of how outrageous or baseless the claims in the petition may be. She does not conduct proper research or require her clients to provide any kind of evidence to support the serious allegations they make. As ...long as the client is paying her, she will lend her name to anything. She should be fined or even disbarred for not taking her professional responsibilities seriously enough to ensure the credibility of the claims made by her and her clients.
