Very disappointed, ended up having to switch attorneys mid-case

Was referred to Wickersham and couldn't have been more disappointed. Always felt like I was bothering his office just trying to get a status or update. Never received an unsolicited update. Also, never felt like a strategy was developed even though I inquired several times. Got the feeling he was too... busy to handle my case but yet he went through retainer without much to show for it. Since I switched to a new attorney, couldn't be happier with progress, strategy, updates, etc. Very glad I made the decision to switch from Wickersham!

Agreed! Beware

It seems the plan is Twelve months and thousands of dollars later - and no progress. I received no advice as to how to move a divorce process, of a 40 year marriage along. I was not told ahead of time what the mediation issues were going to be - so it was dumped on me to pick personal belongin...gs in a matter of 15 minutes. Very little advice, lots of delaying tactics. Choosing a pathetic mediator who was clearly in the all male corner. it looks the client is not important - but the money is.

Beware!

Hired because he supposedly specialized in family law - and certainly charged a specialist rate at $350.00 an hour. During my divorce he did no discovery, depositions or made my ex account for many assets and income I uncovered on my own. He allowed my ex to continue abuse until I was diagnosed with... PTSD and too worn down to fight for myself in mediation, which was attended with no financials information from my husband. He lied numerous times to me, did no comparison of the assets we received. After 30 years I lost everything, received no alimony, paid my own attorney fees and even agreed to pay some of my ex's bills! I could go on and on. Bottom line, think twice.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
