Steven L. Zakrocki

A native Hoosier, my wife and I moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 2007 to be closer to my family and, if we're being completely honest, to get away from the miserable Midwestern winters.

I am a graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington (B.S. 1994) and took some time off from school to figure out what I wanted to do when I "grew up." Luckily, I decided to pursue the law, which was really a goal of mine since watching L.A. Law in 80's.

So, I attended Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis (J.D. 01), and while in law school, worked for one of the largest firms in Indiana.

Following graduation, I started litigating employment matters, including discrimination and harassment matters in state and federal court for both plaintiffs and defendants. Then I tried my hand at insurance defense and commercial litigation (business disputes). In fact, I was exposed to just about every kind of litigation in the civil courts. And I decided it wasn't for me.

What I really wanted to do was help my clients avoid litigation. To devote my practice to making sure my clients prepared and planned now, so that they wouldn't have to worry later. So I shifted my practice and began taking on estate planning and small business matters.

In November 2011, I opened my own firm and my mission is to help my clients find peace of mind through proper planning before a problem arises.
