I have put off writing this review out of retaliation but after months of no calls back while still representing me, it doesn’t even matter. First and foremost, I hired Betsy Haslett for a family law case involving prior DV and SA. These matters were not handled diligently whatsoever. Instead, the p...aralegal gave me the absolute worst advice and sabotaged my case from the get go. I was told everything would be filed and i would be fine. Instead nothing was filed until almost a year later, a few days before court because dad served me. Betsy has 0 compassion for her clients or her job it seems like. She was the best lawyer ever until she got my payment. They told me it would be better not to file anything and wait around for dad to. They then told me they will pause the little bit of payments I have until then because I am a struggling widowed mom who just moved across the country. Then again backtracked and said they never told me that. I have gotten upset on the phone multiple times over the situation and Betsy decides to threaten to stop me as a client because she doesn’t like my whining. When we finally had court she did absolutely nothing at all. She allowed the other party to drag my name through the mud and make me look bad and mentioned NOTHING about the childhood SA, DV, the lack of help in general. She didn’t do anything for me! It was a temp hearing in may and I can’t get ahold of her since then meanwhile dad has blocked all contact, failed to enroll our child in school etc. She told me we should wait AGAIN to just drag out the process for more money of course. I regret giving this law firm a penny of my money. Every other attorney has said she dropped the ball so hard on my case they don’t even know how to fix her mess! I’ve contacted the state bar to file a formal complaint at this point!

This hired lawyer is an underhanded, lying, back stabbing lawyer with a law degree. Don't retain her, RUN!!!!! She is only out for your money and will not, will not represent you to the fullest. Excuses, Excuses!! The initial retainer, she'll be glad to take your money. But after that, you're on HOL...D. She will only represent you in an injunction case while hiring another lawyer to assist her. They're all in cahoots together to get more money out of you. They will take your money and not give you an itemized bill in return. Still waiting.. Don't waste your time. This lawyer has no morals or values. When you contact her office, she doesn't return calls. Her paralegal always say, leave a message and I'll have her to call you back. No, wait. She's on vacation for two weeks. leave a message (BEEP) So, they have spent your retainer money that you have given them for hire and now they're on the beach sipping Mai Tai's on your dime.

My case was active for several years in family court before my original attorney was promoted and moved to another area of law practice. That lawyer transferred my case to Betsy Haslett. My case had been stagnating for some time and I was feeling frustrated with the substantial costs with no progre...ss being made. That changed quickly with Betsy as I chose to retain her. Her manner was such that she appeared truly invested in my case as well as my personal circumstances. Ultimately, my case was not settled in my favor. However, I attribute that to the unfortunate realities of the family court system in this state and county. The outcome had nothing to do with Betsy's representation of me (remember she inherited my case which was several years active and stagnating). Betsy did achieve the best possible outcome the court was willing to afford me and I have since been able to move on to a slow but progressive rebuilding relationship with my daughter. Betsy was compassionate toward me with respect to cost (I am a public school teacher). It seemed clear that her legal assistance to me was important to her while also making a real effort to save me from further hardship financially. Betsy demonstrated a discernible commitment and concern for my case and for me personally that was not as evident with my previous attorney. She was extremely proactive and got the best possible result for me quickly and efficiently which saved me from further costs I could no longer afford. Finally, Betsy was always prompt in her responses via phone and/or email when I needed to make contact with her. I have no complaints or issues with her efforts on my behalf and I appreciated her ability to bring some light to a dark situation with her effective practices and personable demeanor.

I was referred to Betsy Haslett by an attorney at a large Jacksonville business. I live in North Carolina and desperately need legal help with two separate family emergencies in Florida. Betsy helped me understand the steps of the actions we would need to take. She was always available to me as I ...navigated crisis after crisis. My family emergencies have been resolved thanks to Betsy’s attention to detail and we continue to address additional issues as they arise. I am grateful for her legal expertise and her support during an extremely difficult and emotional time. I would highly recommend Haslett Law to anyone seeking legal assistance.

I hired Mrs Haslett for an ongoing child custody case. After using another lawyer who was making all the wrong moves. Mrs Haslett was phenomenal she had every answer to not only my questions but was quick with the appropriate response when the judge had 1. Prior "anonymous" post I highly disagree wit...h. I'm forever thankful to Mrs Haslett I was rewarded full custody in Florida not a normal decision and more, this was 2 years ago and I thank her everyday, having my son with me safe and sound and growing up in a good environment pleases me everyday!
