This guy is the worst attorney ever!

I can not explain how bad this guy is. He would never return my call. He was always late for everything. He gave the judge the wrong info and made it look like i was a vindictive father. Then when the case was over he brushed me off like i was a nobody!

This lawyer was hired for a TPO only to keep the mom away from the father and TPO was granted but Judge explained he shall not allow a father or mother to use a protective order to get a cheap change of custody. This father got with lawyer after he filed his own application for a a temporary Protective order case against the other parent after a custody decision had already occurred in a divorce. To grant change of custody the father or mother must show a substantial and material change of circumstances since the divorce to file a separate change of custody case and this client would not pay the fee or court cost for any custody change case.

"I've know Mr. Akin for over 10 years. He represented me in my contested divorce. I got everything that I wanted in a reasonable amount of time, I was very pleased with the outcome that case. He also represented me in a civil suit which we also won, although the Plaintiff's claims were shoddy at best, Mr. Akin left the Plaintiff knowing he should never have filed it in the first place. He is a very good lawyer to have in a trial, or anything else for that matter. I highly recommend him. ."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
