Paige Mackenzie Miller

We hired Mackenzie to represent us in a misdemeanor case and a parole hearing. We told her we were not interested in a plea because 1) my son was innocent and 2) a plea is a guilty plea in the eyes of parole. We already had 2-3 discovery answers from the state and it was obvious they were not giving... up any evidence without a motion to compel, which she refused to file stating she “didn’t want to piss off the solicitor”. I guess she’d rather piss off her client. We fired her and asked for a refund for what she had not used in our case. She refused so I asked for an itemized statement and received the same response. Apparently, she charged me for things I asked her not to do and then for things she did not do. She works under the firm HogueGriffin and I was very surprised that Mr. Hogue went along with this. Mr. Griffin was the first to jump in and tell me there would be no refund and reviewing the case was time consuming. I supplied her with all the evidence we could get. I didn’t really understand because they treated it as a simple misdemeanor case but the evidence was so extensive the cost to review was extraordinary. If an attorney isn’t going to work with you and what you want (assuming you know about how the courts work) then don’t hire a lazy attorney. I wouldn’t recommend her or this firm.
